OUR ORGANIZATION

BSC is composed of four external divisions, each one focused by design on a specific need within the student community and led by its respective Vice President. Upon admission into the organization, all BSC members are assigned to one of these divisions in which they are given the opportunity to engage in leadership roles, obtain personal and professional growth, and initiate and execute projects aligned with their division’s purpose.

COMMITTEES

ACADEMIC
AFFAIRS

This Division works to improve the academic welfare of the School of Biological Sciences and promote an intellectual environment for its students, by hosting events geared towards addressing academic and career preparatory needs, and engaging with faculty members in programs designed to fashion faculty-student relationships.

COMMUNITY
AFFAIRS

This Division strives to foster a philanthropic environment within the School of Biological Sciences and establish connections between the school and its prospective students, through promoting and planning service opportunities in the surrounding communities as well as outreaching to local high schools.

STUDENT
AFFAIRS

This Division’s purpose is to promote student interests in the School of Biological Sciences through student advocacy, collaboration and reform. Specifically, the division aims to address students’ perspectives via public avenues and advocate on their behalf through collaboration with administration, student organizations and faculty.

PUBLIC
RELATIONS

This Division is tasked with maintaining BSC’s public image through social media and campus advertisements and engaging both students and third party sponsors. Its members are taught marketing and publicity skills, and work to maintain BSC’s virtual presence and recruit third party sponsors.
